| The 2008 F.S.C. Film Festival will take place MAY 23 - 25, 2008 ATTENTION FILMMAKERS! Each year we focus on showcasing the finest independent genre feature films and short films, including (but not limited to): Superhero, Animation, Sci Fi/Fantasy and Horror. The FSC Independent Film Festival is a three day event of film screenings and panels, with directors, producers, writers, actors & makeup artists all sharing their expertise. The Festival competition is for short films (under 45 minutes) and Features (over 45 minutes). SUBMISSION INFO: The deadline for submission is May 1, 2008 Our Entry Fee is: $35 for Feature Films (over 45 minutes) and $25 for Short Films (under 45 minutes) As well, any filmmaker who reserves a artist/filmmaker table at the event to promote their project receives one free submission. This does not guarantee acceptance into our film festival section, just a waiver of the submission fee. We highly recommend all filmmakers set up at the show to promote their project regardless of involvement in the festival. * Each film must have a entry form filled out and sent via email or by mail. Fee must be sent before film will be considered. CLICK HERE FOR THE SUBMISSION FORM * Entries must be submitted on DVD Please ensure that all screeners are complete and work correctly before submitting. All films must be clearly labeled, in a DVD case, and accompanied with a completed entry form. Submissions will only be returned if accompanied by a self addressed prepaid mailer. Foreign-language work must be dubbed or subtitled in English. *You need not attend the convention to participate. * Checks or money orders should be made out to "SUPERCON CONVENTIONS". SELECTION AND NOTIFICATION Programming decisions are made by a professional selection committee comprised of working industry professionals. If chosen to screen, you will be notified before May 10, 2008. All selected films must be DVD or DVD-R. The Festival does not pay for rental fees for submitted work to be screened. All entries selected grant the Festival the right to use audio, video, and still images for promotional materials. The Festival will request any artwork or promotional material for use on the website. FESTIVAL INFO Categories for judging in the festival include: BEST FEATURE FILM - OVERALL BEST SHORT FILM - OVERALL BEST FLORIDA FILM - OVERALL BEST SCI FI/FANTASY BEST ANIMATED BEST DOCUMENTARY BEST HORROR BEST ACTOR BEST ACTRESS BEST MAKEUP FX BEST SPECIAL FX AUDIENCE CHOICE AWARD FSC reserves the right to alter the categories based on submissions and to create additional awards to honor a film that defies the above categories. PANELS & PROGRAMMING Filmmakers attending the event may elect to participate on panels geared for independent filmmakers. If you are interested in appearing on panels, please contact mike@floridasupercon.com - Sooner would be better as we have many filmmakers and only a limited number of panelist slots.
