ROSANNA ROCHA - COSPLAY AMBASSADOR

Rosanna Rocha is an avid cosplayer from Arizona. While she isn’t enjoying the desert weather, she is traveling all over the country to various conventions show casing the remarkable amount of costumes that she has created by hand. With the steadily increased interest in cosplay, Rosanna Rocha welcomes the unorthodox and intends to make her mark on this community. Cosplay truly began for Rosanna in late 2009 when she created the Batman: Arkham Asylum Harley Quinn for a Halloween costume. Having no experience in sewing it became a hobby she desired to improve her skill in. She decided to take this costume to her first convention in her home city, Tucson Comic Con.  She discovered that she could incorporate her blooming hobby of sewing into her true self, that which, an individual who appreciated video games, comics, and anime. Rosanna grew up playing video games with her older brother, reading all his comics, and falling in love with Miyazaki’s films before she knew what “anime” was. This deep seeded love was able to be expressed in a fashion that fused with her new hobby of sewing into what we now know as the world of cosplay. The addiction grew and now, many years later, there is an entire storage space full of her costumes she has put together through time. Her pride lies in doing-it-herself while also proudly representing her alternative look and personality. She can be seen at many U.S. conventions all over. Apart from cosplay she seeks that white-picket fence day dream with the intention of settling down and being a wife and mother one day WITH TEN DOGS running around, and yes, count them, she wants TEN! Check out Rosanna Rocha’s facebook where you will find all her information on future convention, cosplays, and much more: http://facebook.com/rosanna.rocha.cosplayer

CALLIE COSPLAY - COSPLAY AMBASSADOR

After discovering her love of costuming during the Avengers All Day Movie Marathon as Black Widow, Floridian college student Leah Burroughs transformed into Callie Cosplay. Her days of music and writing turned to hours with needles and thread as she taught herself how to sew and began teaching herself the ways of costuming. Callie envisioned attending conventions, but took the path of digital art and began bringing characters to life using her past skills in modeling. Her true love is becoming each character she portrays, and doing the best she can to bring smiles to people's faces in and out of costume. SuperCon will be her debut into the Convention scene! https://www.facebook.com/CallieCosplay

SUMMER RAMEY - COSPLAY AMBASSADOR

Summer has been costuming since 2005. Starting with a homemade Slave Leia and a nervous smile at Star Wars Celebration III and becoming a con groupie with dozens of costumes, she finally migrated into the face and head model of a leather cosplay company, Twisted World. She prefers to have a direct hand in her costume building, either in the design itself or the actual construction. Being involved in the 501st and Rebel Legion instilled in her a desire to put work into something that she can be proud of. Being active in the costuming scene has allowed her to open up and embrace the crazy that's present in us all. She's amassed an amazing group of friends, a lifestyle some only dream of and a job that she loves. http://www.facebook.com/summershizzle and http://www.facebook.com/twistedworldllc

COSTUME COMPETITION SKILL DIVISIONS

In the interest of fairness, and to allow for the best possible competition among peers, FSC has separate divisions for entrants based on skill and experience. This is to ensure that both novice and experienced costumers have a reasonably equal chance to win awards in the Costume Competition. The divisions include: Master – Journeyman – Novice – Junior/Youth. A competitor may always choose to compete in a higher division than that in which the costume competition director has placed him or her. He or she may not choose to compete in a lower division.

Commissioned costumes (paying a person to make your costume), or costumes which have been created by a person not at the event with the entrant may be classified as Uncertified, as long as the creator of the costume is available to speak with judges and go over the costume creation via Google Hangouts during pre-judging. Costumes entered as uncertified are eligible for consideration in the following award categories: Best in Show, Con Chair Spotlight, Best Individual: Uncertified and Best Group: Uncertified. If the creator of the costume in unavailable to speak with judges, the entrant will only be able to enter as an Exhibition Costume and therefore only eligible for a judges award.

THE FSC CROSSPLAY COSTUME CONTEST
SUNDAY JULY 7, 2012 @ 8:45pm

Crossplay is a strong part of costume and cosplay culture… and we’re here to show it off!  Enter to win prizes as we present some gender bending cosplay goodness!  To enter: male cosplayers must enter as a female character and female characters must enter as a male character.

The FSC Crossplay Contest will be divided into two separate categories: The Catwalk Contest and the Lip-Sync Contest.  You may enter either one or the other, but not both!  So, think carefully about which one you want to enter before choosing!

The Catwalk Contest:  Strike a pose, and vogue, vogue, vogue!  Our stage is your catwalk, so show us your moves by striking three of your fiercest poses on stage.  It is up to you to impress both the audience and the judges by giving us a classic ‘Blue Steel’ or coming up with an entirely new look altogether.  Also, there is no need to bring your own music because DJ Pluto Was Once a Planet will be playing an upbeat mix of dance-pop hits in order to help you strut your stuff.  The emphasis on this contest is showing off both your costume and the overall look of your character, whereas the Lip-Sync Contest is designed for contestants who want to perform an actual skit to their own music.  The Vogue Contest will be capped at 50 entries of either gender.

The Lip-Sync Contest:  Do you like to sing, dance, and just generally perform in front of people while in your favorite crossplay?  Turn in your CD (mp3 formatted) with a song of your choice in order to perform an act of the comical to the awe-inspiring in front of our live audience and judges.  However, you will only have up to 1 minute to perform, so make sure you are dressed to impress and ready to perform your best!  Please note that no group entries will be allowed in order for us to see as many of your best Crossplay solo performances ever! The emphasis on this contest is to perform a skit or lip-sync along to your favorite song while in crossplay instead of just posing on stage and showing off your crossplay.  The Lip-Sync Contest will be capped at 20 entries of either gender.

Awards are as follows: 6 awards in total, with Judges Awards given at the judge’s discretion.

Crossplay King – Overall Winner of Both Contests

Crossplay Queen – Overall Winner of Both Contests

Vogue Prince – Winner of the Catwalk Contest

Vogue Princess – Winner of the Catwalk Contest

In-sync Prince – Winner of the Lip-Sync Contest

In-sync Princess – Winner of the Lip-Sync Contest

Judges Awards – Given at the Judge’s Discretion
